Elder Hatch in Brazil!!!

These first two pictures were taken during the first 9 weeks when he was in the CTM (center for training missionaries). They took a few trips to the temple. An older couple sent these photos to us. It made me very happy to see him there alive and well. One day they came home from tracting to find this homeless man asleep in front of their door. They couldn't wake him up so they stepped over him and went inside. The picture is taken from their balcony. He was gone in the morning. I thought it was interesting that he had his own mattress.
This is the view outside their apartment.
Another picture from their balcony. Notice the stairs going up the hill.
This is his second companion Elder Alder from Bountiful Utah. They hiked to the cross at the top of the hill.
Looking out over lovely Jacobina Brazil.
Almost there...
Here is the balcony that he and his companion have been sleeping out on. I assume they sleep in the hammock? He is enjoying having an American companion after having a native the first month or so. He looks so good and happy in this picture. I love it!

Julie,

These are awesome pictures. It really makes me appreciate home and the life we have here in the U.S. Jordan looks so good in these pictures. It was strange seeing the picture of the homeless person outside his door. That was strange especially the mattress part.

Thanks for sharing these photos.'
